John Douglas, the pioneering FBI profiler whose work helped shape modern criminal investigation, is returning to CrimeCon 2026. As one of the original architects of criminal profiling and the inspiration behind Mindhunter, Douglas has spent decades inside the minds of some of the world’s most notorious offenders. He’ll take the stage for a general session in Las Vegas, with a separately ticketed experience also planned. More details and tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
Sheryl “Mac” McCollum, a longtime CrimeCon favorite, will return to the stage in Las Vegas. An Emmy-nominated CSI, Cold Case Investigative Research Institute director, and host of the award-winning podcast Zone 7, Mac brings decades of hands-on experience from some of the nation’s most complex and high-profile cases. Known for her sharp insight, straight-talking style, and deep compassion for victims and their families, Mac’s sessions are always a must-see.
Edward Nordskog, one of the world’s leading arson and fire death investigators, will bring the largest serial arson investigation in U.S. history to the CrimeCon stage. A former lead investigator with the Los Angeles Arson Task Force, Nordskog led the hunt for a firestarter who ignited 52 fires across Los Angeles in just three days. He’ll take attendees inside the case, revealing how fire forensics turned ashes into evidence—and led investigators to a single offender.
Joseph Scott Morgan, one of the leading voices in forensic investigation, will return to CrimeCon 2026 with a new case and fresh insights drawn from his work as a medicolegal death investigator. A veteran investigator, author, and educator, Morgan is known for bringing clarity—and humanity—to the most complex cases. He’ll take the stage for a session and also join Creator Row with his hit podcast, Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan.
Vincent Velazquez, former Atlanta homicide detective and hostage negotiator, will take attendees inside the murder mind of Brian Nichols. Drawing from his firsthand experience investigating violent crime, Velazquez will walk through the case with the perspective of a seasoned detective—examining behavior, motive, and decision-making to better understand how the crime unfolded. A rare, investigative look at one of the most notorious cases in recent history.
Renee Williams, CEO of the National Center for Victims of Crime, will moderate one of our most powerful and meaningful sessions: Victim Impact Statements. Members of the CC community will take the stage to share how crime has shaped their lives—voices that are too often unheard outside the courtroom. Guided with care and compassion, this session will highlight the vital role victim impact statements play in justice, healing, and remembrance.
Scott Duffey, retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent and forensic interviewing expert, will take CC attendees inside the art of asking the right questions and getting real answers. Drawing on more than two decades with the FBI and years training law enforcement professionals around the world, Duffey will break down how investigators build rapport, spot deception, and guide interviews to uncover critical information. This session will offer a rare look at the techniques FBI agents use to turn conversations into evidence.
